I read a book the other day talking about our “soul’s purpose”. While the book itself had little of any particular interest, there was one point the author did make that I think was worth sharing. He talked about souls who were sick in this life, suggesting that it was a way of learning to rely on other people.

It did make me think. In our culture where we are so independent, I have to wonder if sickness doesn’t allow us to rely on people in a way we wouldn’t if we weren’t sick.
