I think most people who practice acupuncture and other forms of complementary healing want to give back even more. To be effective as an energy healer, it almost requires a certain amount of empathy and caring for others.
On social media sites, I’ve been noticing organizations that let acupuncturists give back. Acupuncturists Without Borders is one such place. Acupuncturists, non acupuncturists trained in NADA protocol and non acupuncturists interested in offering support can travel to disaster areas to assist with stress reduction. Additionally, AWB helps practitioners offer free clinics as part of their non-profit umbrella.
Global Natural Health Alliance is another place. The goal is to provide free natural health care to impoverished communities in developing nations. They are not an organized focused just on acupuncturists but focus on natural health.
The Pan African Acupuncture Project seeks to teach local community healthcare providers to provide acupuncture treatments. Acupuncturists travel to various communities to teach the techniques in the manual.
For those looking to support a cause within the borders of the US, the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic offers complementary health care free of charge to low income women with breast cancer. They are always looking for complementary healthcare providers as they serve over 600 clients at any given time. Additionally, their site offers easy access to donations which are always needed.
What moves you? I am always looking to feature other places that allow acupuncturists and alternative healthcare providers to give back. Is there some place I’ve missed that should be mentioned? Leave me a comment.
