Energy and Work

I love broader ways of looking at things and so I was fascinated by the article about Sustaining Energy at Work.   Nancy Post, the author talks about how we focus on expending energy in producing something at work.  However, no matter how many hours we work, our offices rarely consider how we might recharge that energy, expecting us to be able to do that in our off hours.  Of course, there is the issue that so often we don’t have time to re-charge our energies.

Post has a nice little chart on the various ailments, including physical, emotional and mental issues, that indicate an imbalance in a certain type of energy.  I am looking forward to her next installment in this series.

While acupuncture is specific to the individual person, I am pleased to see someone moving away from the single person.   As a holistic medicine, this means that the person does not exist in a vacuum but rather in relationship to many things.   The more balanced our outer world is, the more balanced our body can be.   In this go go go society, it is easy to forget that there are times when we also need to rest rest rest.
