Brilliantly Put Post

Naturally Knocked Up has a guest blogger who has a brilliant post called Sterilizing Life.

Among other things, the blogger says, “And then it started to dawn on me. We’re a culture that is afraid of life and its consequent messiness. We’re scared of yucky things. As a society, we have learned to kill everything we can’t control.”

We are completely terrified of anything that is messy! Life, unfortunately for us really IS messy. Further, if we can’t control something, we kill it, or try to. Those two sentences are probably the most profound commentary about the way our culture thinks about life, illness, health and death.

  1. Thanks so much for linking to my post, Bonnie! It’s because of brave bloggers like you that I’ve come across so much truth about nutrition, health and fertility. Here’s to the interwebs!

  2. Thanks for the visit Kathleen. I was really really impressed with the quality of what you had to say–the ability to make a wonderful statement about where our CULTURAL viewpoint may be skewed rather than in the ways we “need to change” to be healthy!
