Be Thankful For Your Breath

In yoga this morning, our instructor read a passage from Thich Nhat Hanh about breath. She read that as we breathe in we should always be thankful for that in breath. After all–what is the alternative.

As we sit in mindfulness, perhaps of our pain or our discomfort, take a moment to reflect on the feelings around that in breath. Can you find a reason to be joyous? Can you acknowledge that here at least is one place where your body still works, even if it struggles with that breath?
